Leeds Digital Festival

With over 90 events so far, and 10,000 projected attendees, Leeds Digital Festival is heading up to be a huge event, yet again! And with only a few weeks left before it kicks off, we’re really starting to get excited for the return of the North’s largest digital festival.

We’d recommend to get down to as many events as you can! There are some big names at this year’s festival, such as The Northern Powerhouse, Marks & Spencer, IMDB & Playstation, involved in some very exciting events. But with events like the Kids Tech Day, Code in the Dark, or Goal’s Digital Review of Football in 2016, there’s no shortage of options for people of all backgrounds.

In fact, we’re hosting two events of our own as part of Leeds Digital Festival 2017:

Running brilliant digital campaigns: Monitoring and measuring your success with Google Analytics

Wed 26th April 9.30am-4.30pm

Jonny Ross

As you may know, we ran several social media/SEO masterclasses last year, with the purpose of helping people learn the basics of digital. Due to their success, we also launched a second course to help people take their digital skills to the next level, through reporting on their digital campaigns – Running brilliant digital campaigns: Monitoring and measuring your success with Google Analytics. If you already have a digital strategy, but want to focus on reporting and improving your results, then this event is most definitely for you.

Jonny is often complimented for his presentation skills, being described as “friendly”, “engaging” and having the ability to “go through everything in depth, but in a way that’s easy to follow”.

By the end of the masterclass, you can expect to:

  • Understand how to strategically and effectively use Google Analytics, as well as a variety of other digital marketing tools
  • Understand how to measure website performance and use results to spot new business opportunities
  • Be able to use web analytic tools to understand in which areas budget can be focused

For anyone who wants to take their digital marketing skills to the next level, this could be perfect for you. You can sign up for your tickets here.

Growing your business using digital

Fri 28th April 4pm-6pm

Edward Kirkby

In our second event of the festival, we’re hosting Growing your business using digital. This event will certainly appeal to any freelancers, creatives or small business owners.

Our guest speaker, Edward Kirkby, tax specialist and Managing Director of Think Tax Ltd, will be looking at some of the various methods for dealing with business finances in the digital age. Ed will also be reviewing some of the accounting software that’s currently out there, as well as outlining what the government initiative – Making Tax Digital – means for your business. With Ed’s rare skill of being able to simplify even the most complicated things, attendees can make the most of this opportunity to learn about what can often be one of the trickiest things to understand – business finance.

Jonny will follow on from this by talking about how he established his own award-winning digital agency, jrc.agency. Outlining some of his proven techniques to create and manage a digital agency, you’ll discover some of the challenges that Jonny faced along the way and how he managed to overcome them. Including some of the free and cheap digital apps that we use at jrc.agency to grow the business and manage communications.

As this event takes place on a Friday afternoon, we also thought it would be fitting to offer attendees a free glass of fizz…
